ABOUT

Jelle Krings is an independent photojournalist, reporter and filmmaker. Krings is interested in humanizing large elusive themes such as war, conflict, migration, climate change, and geopolitical issues, through people-and community-driven, long-term, multimedia projects with a focus on still photography.

Krings regularly contributes to- and works on assignment for outlets like National Geographic, The Guardian, CNN, Newsweek, Stern, De Volkskrant, and more. His work has been recognized with awards by Pictures of the Year international (2021, 2023), the Online Journalism Award (2021), the Zilveren Camera (2021 and 2023) and the Tegel (2022). His ongoing multimedia project Iron People was nominated for a Visa d’or Award for Best Digital News Story in 2023.

Krings holds BA an MA degrees in (European) Law and worked as a legal adviser before he became a photojournalist.
